“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition (the Antichrist).” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3)
Let us not be deceived into believing we will be on a bed of roses when Jesus returns, as most churches are teaching. Jesus will not return until “the falling away” occurs and the Antichrist is revealed.
“Falling away” – In Greek: Apostasia; defection from truth.
And God’s Word is the Truth. In order for us to not fall away, we need to be in God’s Word daily. Start by reading the book of John and one Proverb a day, as there are 31 Proverbs, one for each day of the month. And if you miss a day, don’t feel you must catch up. Just read that day’s Proverb and focus on the verses that pop out at you. In the months to come, more and more will be revealed to you.
