The Fear of the Lord

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Prov. 1:7) And “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” (Prov. 9:10)

Fearing the Lord means to hate evil (Prov. 8:13) and to be afraid of His judgments (Psalms 119:120).

We are not to fear anything or anyone else, but we must fear our God. Otherwise, we won’t make it. Throughout God’s Word, we learn this. Yes, thank You, Jesus, for being the sacrifice for our sins, so that we can be saved. Yet, if we love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, we will fear Him who has the power of life and death.
