“I brought you into a bountiful country, to eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you defiled My land and made My heritage an abomination… Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the Lord your God, and the fear of Me is not in you,” Says the Lord God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 2:7,19)
Since the time I spent in a coma in 2008, God has been taking me through seasons of pruning and giving me messages through His Word. I can’t count how many times I’ve opened to the book of Jeremiah and I thank my pastor, Shahram, for his recent messages from the same book. America, a nation once devoted to God and His Word, has gone astray, especially much of the church who no longer fear Him, throwing out His commandments, living in sin, etc. So what can we do to turn our Lord’s wrath away from us?
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Our Lord, Yahweh, is a compassionate God who longs for us to turn to Him in humility and repentance. “Then” He will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land like He did when Nineveh repented (Jonah 3).
