Proverb of the Day

“Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Prov. 14:34)

Many Christians believe that Jesus doesn’t care about righteousness, but He does.

“But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15-16)

Justice, reigning in a nation, puts an honor upon it. A righteous administration of the government, impartial equity between man and man, public countenance given to the real God, Yahweh, qualifies a nation for the favour of God. Sin is a reproach to any kingdom, and renders them despicable among their neighbours. (Matthew Henry’s Commentary)
